ZOOM in?

Got a note from my dentist in the post this morning regarding my 6 monthly check up.
There was a little ad on the bottom of the card saying "Also available ZOOM in surgery tooth whitening".
Anyone care to tell me what this involves and if it's any use, cost etc?
My teeth are discoloured from smoking and drinking coke, but are otherwise healthy-ish. I'm not too vain in regards to my appearance, but I'm sure whitening wouldn't go astray. Then I think that it's fairly pointless as one of my front teeth is rotten and needs to be replaced (can't afford €750 at the moment) and wonder if it's worth my while getting my teeth whitened when the rotten tooth sticks out like the sore thumb on my left hand, which i burnt while taking something out of the oven the other day.

Anyway, cost, worthiness of product etc?

Hi, I don't know much about the zoom whitening in particular, but you'd be much much better off saving up to get the bad tooth fixed. Whitening will do nothing for you otherwise. Anyway, I think whitening courses might cost 3-400 quid anyway.

Could you claim off your PRSI to get your tooth fixed?

    Medical card all the way.
However, the rotten tooth is regarded as cosmetic work, so it costs money.
I wouldn't mind paying the money if I could afford it, but right now that is out of the question.
Anyway, I was fairly much of the same conclusion. Get the broken rotten one fixed and then worry about the whitening.
All said though, I'd like to get an estimate and compare it to my dentist.

Definately get the basics covered first man. If you go to a dentist, they will advise you to get this done first. If your tooth is rotten, you might need it out, if it's slight they can do work on.

Go for the whitening after it's done.

I do actually need it taken out. on my last visit to the dentist, she drilled it and sucked all the crap out, so it's ok for the time being.
Like I said though, I don't have €750 hanging around right now. :)

    Thanks for the replies, folks.
