Adium - so slow!

    Recently updated to the new adium version, but lately its been causing me alot of problems, so much so that I got so annoyed that i threw it in the bin and downloaded *whisper* msn messenger.
    Anyone else having problems with it? I have a mate here who has had the same problem.
    I didnt wanna swithc from adium because i loved the GUI and its simplicity but I just got so annoyed :mad:

    If you're on an intel mac, MSN Messenger runs glacially slow under Rosetta anyway. Is there no other alternatives??

    there is mercury also, i just really like adium but since they upgraded it its been so damn slow, never caused me any hassle before

    really? ive a macbook, adium worked fine up until a few days ago when i updated it weird

    I find it quite reasonable, and this is on a G4 ibook.

    I haven't noticed any change really -- Adium has been always a resource hog on my G4 iBook (~50% CPU once I start chatting), from pre-0.8 to current 1.01. But it's something I'm used to now.
    Well, kind of.

    ... I really should make the money for an upgrade...
