Hi folks, I'm off to Zell Am See for a week on Saturday the 24th. Does anyone have any info on the snow conditions? I seem to be getting very mixed reports on the online snow reports.
If anyone was there recently I'd love to hear what you thought of the place.

    Thanks..

was over there from the 3rd to the 10th. Snow was pretty crap on the lower slopes, tiny amount of snow on the Tuesday, was only just cold enough to run the snowblowers during the end of the week. Plenty of snow on the upper slopes, but was very busy, lots of ice and moguls by the afternoon. was not much impressed by the apres ski in the town. Seemed like a excellent resort, we just got it at a bad time snow wise.

Don't know about snow reports, but from my experience the Apres Ski and general atmosphere in the town at night is pretty good. Zell Am See seemed like a friendly town with many facilities(Mc Donalds food for kids) and a good slope selection (during good snow). Would recommend it.

I've just noticed this thread now!

I don't really like Zell am See. The slopes are not very challenging for intermediate/advanced skiers, the lift queues are quite long if it's in any way busy and the winter/town is not that big of a resort. I've never been to the glacier though.

Heathen. Stick to stud. ZAZ is great.

Hi guys, thinking of going to the apartment in Zell during the first two weeks of December. If anyone could tell me what the snow conditions would be like for skiing I'd be very grateful.
    Thanks.

Quite a large probability that there'll be no snow at the lower part. The glacier at Kaprun should be ok for skiing.
