Shopping in Boston - Help!

    Can anyone recommend good shopping areas in Boston. I'm hoping to buy tracksuits, hoodies etc. Don't know where to start as it's my first time there. Thanks.

    I'm not much of a shopper but Washington st. seems the best - used to go to Filenes basement for coats , suits and hoodies - don't know if its been changed since Macys took it over.

    There are a few department stores and other shops in Downtown Crossing, whch includes Washington St as mentioned above. Newbury St is also good but it is more high end than Downtown Crossing
    There is a good mall called the Galleria in Cambridge, juts a few minutes subway trip from Downtown Crossing (Kendall stop)
    There are also more out of town malls like South Shore Plaza in Braintree to name one.
    If you have transport, the outlets in Wrentham (about 30min south of Boston) is by far the best place to buy.

    Kittery Maine just North of Boston is great if you have transport.

    On the T line if you go to Government Centre stop, you are fairly well placed within walking distance of the shopping areas in downtown Boston.
