I was planning on getting a new head and cab in the future. But then would it be possible to get a cabinet and just plug my combo into it. Or more importantly would it be worth it? I have a tube marshall 60watt combo.

Most good combos let you use an external cab, with or without the combos own speaker at the same time. You'd need to check your own one to see. Be careful with impedances if you go down that road.

yeah it lets me alright. There are two out wire options. Its either 16 or 8 ohms. Should be simple enough. Its a marshall tsl601. Ive heard the wolverine speaker isnt the best anyway. Would the circuitry in the combo be as good as a head I wonder?

Ah its the same, if youve got a combo already and it works fine, i dont see any need to get a head.

Get a 1x12 cab - bring the combo on its own for small gigs, and sit the combo on top of the cab for bigger gigs (check the dimensions obviously). And, as I said already, make sure you know what you're doing in terms of impedances, especially if youre combining two cabs.

If you dont like the wolverine, just swap it out with something else.

The speaker in the Dsl/Tsl combos are really cheap and have poor voicing, especially on the Tsl because of the extra gain and wattage, it tends to lose the clarity of a tube amp and get muddy!
I heard a Dsl with a Celestion gt12-75 and sounded like a different amp! lol
But yeah a 2x12 cab would really help out the tsl! So I would recomend the Marshall 1936. one of the Best 2x12 goin imo

I would have said one of the worst TBH, but i guess they're cheap and easy to get hold of, so maybe that's a plus.

why would you spend 450 on a marshall 1936 when you can get a beautifully constructed matamp cab direct from the u.k loaded with vintage 30's for 550?

Well I guess its what your looking for really! It gives you good bass and good mids! But the Framus Dragon is class too! GREAT for the price if memory serves me right!:p

Ah, if you get a marshall 2x12 cheap, fair enough. With a good amp, it'll probably sound fine. They just dont compare well to other cabs out there, they have pretty flimsy construction these days and the speakers are rebranded cheapie replicas of what they claim to be. As with at least 50% of marshall stuff today, youre mostly just buying a badge.

Framus dragon is the expensive one, I think youre referring to the basic CS212. Its a fairly plain but well made cab. For E300 with 2 V30s its good value, Ive heard of guys with plenty of money running boutique amps through them, simply because they are pretty decent cabs, name and money aside.
