Trip-hop?

    What is trip-hop? I'm digging Pacha Massive and their cd comes out next week, but they describe themselves as using "elements of trip-hop", and I've no clue what that means. Anyone want to help me out? They're on myspace if you want to listen: www.myspace.com/pachamassive

    Trip-Hop, Hip-Hop , same god damn difference.Its all good music, and my understanding is that the biggest leaders of "Trip-Hop" from the early 90's in the UK term their music, rightfully, as Hip-Hop.

    Try out some Tricky(first three albums), Massive Attack(first two albums) and Portishead. Bjork as well has worked with a few of Hip-Hop producers, particurly Tricky and Rahzel.

    The above 4 artists have made some of the most incredible music ever imo.If you have never heard Massive Attack's Mezzanine and Bjork's Homogenic then you need to get them, although neither album could be termed as Hip-Hop, they are both incredible.UNKLE made some good stuff as well.Some will suggest DJ Shadow, but he is only useful if you have trouble sleeping. ;)
