connecting a detached garage to a house

    Hi there,

I would be grateful for any opinions about the feasibility of attaching a detached garage to a house and converting the whole thing to living space. Its a two storey detached house and a one-storey garage on 3/4 acre in the countryside, both with pitched roofs. The buildings are about 4 metres apart.

I know it´s a vague scenario, but any thoughts would be appreciated, particularly with regard to planning difficulties, approx cost per sq ft, etc.,

Basically, I´m trying to figure out if its a runner at all or if it´s just a waste of time/poor use of money to try to do it.

Thanks in advance for any advice:)
