Live 35 euro rebuy tournament from last night. Ive been short stacked for past 2 levels or so due to 2 bad beats. Anyway the past few levels Ive pushed all in in late position with small aces etc but havent got called down.

Blinds are 500/1000. I have 8.5k. UTG+1 limps. Folded round to me in the sb. I look down at kqo. Flat call or push?? The bb by the way doesnt seem to excited about his hand. And as far as I know the limper would have raised pf with 1010+.

Really hate short stack play so if anyone had any good links to advice with what to push with etc that would be helpfull too.

its fold or push. you shouldnt flat call.

whats the stack size of the limper? but generally, without any other info you should fold, with an ep limper, its not always a sign of weakness.

for short stack play, stick it in when medium stacks are the BB and you are the first to enter the pot in mid-late position, regardless of your holding.

In EP push with strong holdings. When playing in the blinds, play very agressive, your blinds are worth so much to you that you dont want people messing around with them. make a stand early on when you have 12-15BBs by restealing a LP raiser. When you get this short stacked you want to seem to be wild in the your blinds so people will generally not steal from you. Dont let people limp in in late position, the button or SB. Pounce on any weakness, though once they pick up on this you will prob have to change gears, but it may be too late.

Short stack play aint easy. In this position you have to push. He has shown no strength and doesnt know so you have pushing with muck. If he calls so what ? Unlikely you're in bad shape. You should be happy taking your chances with KQ against A rag.
The big thing to improve at short stack poker is to understand that you have nothing to lose. Better to go out with both guns blazing then whimper out after trying a stupid min raise to scare people then making a big laydown on the flop.

For the info given, the KQ hand is a push for me.

For SS tournament play, get Harrington Vol 2 for a very good grounding.
