Annoying Trojan

    Afternoon all,

Been trying to beat this thing for 2 days and still no luck. I think I may have identified the root of it but would prefer to do a full clean in case there are files that I miss. I downloaded (yes my fault!) an exe file that turned out to be a trojan.

Symantec picked it up but only after it had unloaded and has failed to clean it. A full virus scan doesn't show anything nor does adaware. Problem is a red exclamation icon on my sys tray that tells me of a security warning click here to learn more. (pic attached) If you click on full scan or learn more it redirects you to either one of two sites. Razspyware or WinAntiVirus (both bad boys im led to believe). I've researched it and downloaded a vundoo fix but that pics up nothing! so here is my hijack this. Anyone got any ideas?

put a tick in the boxes to the left of these entries

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [syswin] C:\WINDOWS\system32\v6.exe >> Is your trojan
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CTDrive] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\drvkur.dll,startup >> Is Malware
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: winmmt32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winmmt32.dll >> is trojan

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them (if still found):
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winmmt32.dll

your pc should be fine once you do all these things.

also you seem to be using an old version of IE,you should update to IE7 which is here
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/ie/default.mspx

you are also using an old version of java it seems,go here
    https://sdlc4d.sun.com/ECom/EComActionServlet;jsessionid=BA63C395209A99C9ACB21C23F8ADD20A
    download
Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language jre-6-windows-i586.exe 12.56 MB,its at the top

let me know how things go please.IF(its a big IF) anything goes wrong,go into hijackthis config menu, and restore backups.

just adding to previous posters advise

once you have deleted these files run another scan of your system using a different program to your current one bitdefender/bullguard etc

probably quicker to do this in safe mode

once virus/trogan/malware free go in to systems and turn off system restore if u dont do this you run risk of reinfecting pc if you use this restart your pc this will delete all your previous retore dates

go back in to systems and createa new restore date virus free

Cheers for the advice lads, I ment to post up yesterday that I got it. I downloaded AVG anti spyware and that detected and killed it all for me.

Actor, thanks for that, I'm using java 10 at the moment and have absolutely no intenetion of using IE7. Its horrendous and not to mention and dire interface. I dont even use the IE that I have on the pc, just use Firefox and Opera.
