Ok, it seems that to get a really decent view you need to be up high for this.

I have made enquiries and am looking to hire a room with a large balcony. Perks of this rental include:

Private VIP room with viewing balcony adjacent to control tower
Champagne / Bucks Fizz on arrival
    Finger food
    Complimentary drinks
    Waitress service to the bar
    Complimentary Salthill Air Show t-shirt
Complimentary Salthill Air Show souvenir programme

Would anyone be willing to pay for this as currently the organisers are asking for €100 a person. However, the VIP on offer means anyone can be there which means large numbers too. I already have 3 people who are willing to do this but I reckon I need another 15 people to cover the costs.

I can see this as another Boards.ie session - what do you reckon??

Please let me know as would love to do something like this especially as the event is being headlined by the USAF Thunderbirds with the Red Arrows making an appearance again.

    Hi Guys

I am new to this board,in relation to the VIP area at Salthill this is not run by the Air Show organisers but by a private company and the hotel.

The Air Show organisers are looking for donations to help in the running of the Air Show this year due to the cost involved, this would be a much better option to help them so the show goes ahead you can donate online on their website at www.salthillairshow.com

I know some of the guys involved and they really need help this year.

Seems a bit of a waste, just get down early and get a good spot on the rocks across from the roundabout.

Yeah you are totally right. I also want to point out that I didnt imply they Salthill Air Show organisers were providing the VIP area.

This is not about who gets in early or anything like that. I thought this would be an ideal opportunity to get shots that would be different from everyone else ie on the rocks or wherever you may be on the prom etc.

So far the numbers are upto 8!!
