There are 2 main streets in Liverpool for pubs and clubs call Matthew Street and Slater Street they are packed with pubs and clubs and bounchers are nothing like Irish ones, They are real nice and if you have a few drinks on you they dont give you the 3rd degree... They just let you in..

Theres a shoping centre called "St Johns" worth a look.

As for eating, I'm not to sure.. There is a wetherspoons , it's also a Pub with the cheapers beer around and there food is pretty good as well. All this is in the City centre and easy enough to find.

Great choice ! Liverpool is a cracking city and you will have a great time. Go to see the beatles museum in a basement at the albert dock. Take a cruise on the ferry cross the mersey. The cruise goes in an elipse with a verbal commentary explaining what you can see. Get onto anfield and book a tour of the trophy room and the stadium. If you are there on a sunday morning, get a cab to the stanley market, its great. At night hit mathew street. The cavern club - an authentic recreation of the original from the sixties, the last time I was there there were 2 discos inside, one with dancy music and the other with 60's music. Labinskys bar around the corner (corkys shots 1.50 or 4 for a fiver), took the wife 2 days to recover. Rubber Sole is great also.
Visit the museums in the albert dock. The customs display is quite good, see if you can spot the smugglers, (hint look for the teen with size 12 trainers full of drugs...) Visit the maritime museum.

    See links below.

www.liverpool.com great for whats on and ideas.

The next one is a two for one voucher for beatles story museum

The Pumphouse is great pub for a Sunday afternoon, really nice food too. Its down at the docklands

If you like The Beatles the tour is well worth doing.

Heading to Liverpool this weekend coming. Staying in the Holiday Inn which is on or near Lime Street. This is fairly central, yes?

Now, what is Liverpool like dress code wise for pubs and clubs? Are Runners okay, or a no no? Jeans ok?
