I know its early but after the weights were released today who are your selections. I have a few:

Clan Royal- 10-9 Low weight for a horse who has been unlucky not win it the last 2 years. Might be his last chance of winning it. Proven Aintree form.

Longshanks 10-7 Good Horse round Aintree. Previous Experience over these fences, will go close in my opinion

Liberthine- 10-6 Proven Aintree Form, never seems to run a bad race, Sam Waley Cohen winning it would be special. Good chance.

Le Duc- 10-2 Fell at Canal Turn last year but has since ran good races most notbaly at Cheltenham in cross country race 4th behind Spot the difference, jumping may be downfall.

Sir Rembrandt 11-4 That is a really low weight for a Gold Cup 3rd twice! Will run for ever, stays on well. GOOD E/w

My tips are Liberthine to win and Sir Rembrandt E/W

    What you reckon?

The 3 that appeal most to be at this stage are Liberthine, Dun Doire and Bothar Na. As far as I'm aware all 3 are been aimed at the race.

i dont have a major interest in the National but id agree Le Duc looks to have a decent chance (if thats possible in the lottery that is the Grand National)

Would be very surprised to see Le Duc get in off 10-2.

Thats exactly what I've heard down in Listowel off TM.

I reckon backing Bewleys Berry,Far from Trouble and Dun Doire each way will guarantee profit.

There are several probable bets to nothing available for horses that are certain to go if not injured, some I've already mentioned but you could add Clan Royal, Kelami, Nil Desperandum and Hedgehunter as bets that could be laid off at lesser prices closer to the time.

Far From Trouble (backed @ 20/1) & Dun Doire (backed @ 16/1) for me

I backed bewleys berry about 4 weeks ago but his price hasn't shortened as much as I had anticipated.

Ditto Nil desperandum, thought he'd be pricewise so backed it o betfair with a lay in at around the 16/1 mark. again hasn't shortened as much as I thought but there's a long way to go til aintree.

Homer Wells is in at a nice 10-6. Thyestes Chase winner, as was Numbersixvalverde.
it takes a very good horse to win the national carrying > 11 stone.
