Just a little issue that has cropped up in this forum over the past two weeks that I want everyone here to be aware of.

A number of people have been posting in different threads and stating as fact what I can only describe as very inaccurate information.

This forum tends to be used a reference area for a lot of teachers and lecturers.

As moderator, it is up to me to try and ensure the legitimacy of information posted as fact, is actually fact.... and not just "he said, that she said that he said... so therefore this is accurate" information.

When posting an opinion, I cant stop someone from saying that they got their advice from their friends friend friend grandad who actually knew the world's first lecturer.. but when you use that to post supposedly accurate advice, then Im going to step in.

In short.. If you have first hand knowledge that is accurate, please pass it on.

If you are relying on heresay to give advice to people who may badly need it to decide the direction of their career, dont bother. Give your own opinion and back it up. Dont post it as fact. You have been warned.

    Moderator.
