Im with BT and I have a 3meg line with the phone and internet package.What is the total monthly download limit before I start getting charged extra?

30 gig. Don't worry about it though. To date, they don't charge for going over.

Just don't go too crazy on it though, they can and have disconnected people (temporarily) in the past for excessive downloading. Try to keep it out of peak times too so as not to bring too much attention to yourself. That might not do much, but if you've already gone over the limit then hammering the connection from 6-11PM might bring unwanted attention your way.
