A mate of recently bought a Dell tower with just the Cpu,Mb.No memory etc. So I got him some 3200 ddr2 and tried it in it but no joy. When I turn it on the fans come on but no post.

The Cpu is a socket 775 2.8ghz. I someone said I should get ddr2 that runs at 533mhz...Are Dell machines the finicky about what memory is put into them. I seen a link suggesting the PC2-3200 ddr would work in it..Is there any other way to confirm if a MB is blown other than seeing if the capacitors are raised?
