    hya,
    Just thought I'd get some opinions on the picture of the rose I just took.
    I took the photo using a tripod using a halogen desktop light bounced off 2 walls and of course a spray of water.

    So what do you think of the compisition ? or what else would people do with the photo in photoshop ?

    Equip:
    Shutter speed 4.5 seconds with an apeture of F/5.6
    Standard lenes that comes with the Canon 350D 18-55m

    Photoshop:
    Levels
    Curves
    Brightness
    Dodge and Burn

    Here's the code you need to get the picture to show up in the thread (take out the full stops after the square brackets) - the link that flickr gives you doesn't work...

    [.URL="http://www.flickr.com/photos/muineach/389162869/"][.IMG]http://farm1.static.flickr.com/142/389162869_41be6a9219.jpg[./IMG][./URL]

    I think it's beautiful, and simple shows off the natural qualities of the rose itself. My only suggestion would be for the composition, to bring the flower up from the bottom a bit because it just seems too close to the bottom edge, and makes it look unbalanced overall.

    I wouldn't touch this one in photoshop at all... maybe a touch of sharpening for print, if it's needed.

    Well I had another few goes (about 176 goes to be exact :P ) and I came up with these, the first one is a first attempt at selective colourisation, I think, not sure if I really like it, and the second one I think is my favorite out of all of them.

    Oh yea, the pic's look ok at Medium level but theres a lot more detail at large.
    So what do you think ?
