There was 7 players left and a $475 Seat for 6 Players. As most of you probably know, at this stage of the game it's a case of all-in preflop with all premium hands and hoping for the best.

I was playing in this last night and was on the button so no fear of the blinds eating another sizeable chunk of my stack for at least another 6 hands. The blinds were 3000/6000 with a 200 (i think) ante. I was 5th in chips with around 21,000. The person in 7th was next on the big blind and had <3000 chips. The person in 6th was to my right with 6000.

The chip leader had circa 100,000 in chips and was on the BB and was therefore, based on his previous plays, sure to call any of the shorter stacks all-ins with any two cards to try and knock one more person out. In the final hand it was a case of (Chip leader posts big blind, 2 folds, Person in 4th goes all-in for 23,000, small-blind folds, chip leader calls).

Now the chip leader had J-9 and the person going all-in had A-10. A pair of 9's won.

I was in shock at this as it seemed (to me as an average player) like a stupid play. I had already folded A-10 one off the button in a previous hand as I believe that, at this stage in the tournament, the chances of one of the two shortstacks being blinded away is greater than the chances of my going all-in and winning with A-10.

Should this have been a clear fold for the A-10 or should he have been afraid of the person on the BB doubling/tripling up in the next hand and then the other shortstack doing the same resulting in him becoming the shortstack himself.

I think it was a clear fold but I'm not 100% certain. He did have the best hand going in so my tactic of folding the A-10 one of the button when there was no calls never mind raises seems a bit like "scared poker" and I sort of regreted not going all-in on that hand when the BB took the blinds and antes.

Needless to say I was happy with the outcome of the hand and won my ticket but have traded it in for W$ which I may use for WSOP qualifiers in a couple of weeks.

yes this is an awful play by the A10.

This is a prime example as to why these turbo rebuys are so profitable.

A 10 Stupid play with 23k agianst the big chip leaders big blind, with two small stacks already going to be comitted next hand or so. The Chipleader had every right to think J 9( might be live and seen as he is only 40%ish agianst AK, his 6k in gives him the odds to call either way. Why race here, kamikaze stuff.

TWith 6 tickets up for grabs it's the type of play you'd expect from Gary Barlow
