Still looking at laptops on dell outlet, see a few what llook like bargains but was trying for the best spec v. price

I was so far looing only at those with a video card listed, but those without are considerably cheaper (some times)

won't be using the laptop for games

so will having a video card (other than the standard intergated one ) show much of a difference watching dvds etc ?

If I did want to play games (plan on the laptop being portable, going on holidays etc etc) is a video card a must...? looking at one laptop with a 128MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1300 graphics card

    Any opinion would be appreciated
(course by the time I sort myself out the bargains will be gone as usual)

also worth investing the 40e more to get the 9 cell battery?

    really appreciate the help

For 2D usage and DVD's integrated graphics are fine.

For some basic 3D gaming abilities you will need a GPU from ATI or NVIDIA of which the X1300 will suffice.

The amd based Dell laptops have fairly decent integrated video in the X1150, which is much better then the integrated video in the Intel based laptops and is sufficent for light gaming.

Maybe give a few examples of what you'd be looking to play and we can make a few more recommendations though, because depending on the games sometimes even the cheapest integrated graphics can be sufficent.
