Quick question, If I dont get the ps3 at launch in March then im going to be getting one in May for my birthday. So, do you think it will be available then or do you think it will be sold out?
    Cheers

There hasn't been a serious PS3 shortage in America despite that $1200 prize for one since the new year. With just over a month to buy one after launch, I'd imagine you'll be sound. That's unless they push the release date even further at this late stage. You'd want to prebook now if you want one in March. The Wii had to prebooked 6 weeks in advance in most cases.

Really? Why not get the machine first then save up and get the TV?
Think of the bonus in the change of quality alone:D
Plus the odds of the price going down or the console being easier to find later are slim, especially if saving up for it again takes until Christmas.
If I were you I would go for the console at launch, get a deposit down with GAME ASAP if you change your mind.

cant see there being any shortage of ps3s

they are easy to find in the states and ps3 is bombing in japan only 600k sold out of more than 1 million shipped!! , ps3 will lose for the same reasons the psp lost to ds,

    price
slow load times of bluray (the new umd)
    funfactor
    unique games

I don't really agree with you I have to say.
The only thing I do agree with is that unlike the Wii launch, Christmas isn't upon us, and the price is slightly higher than the average gamer may be able to afford at this time of the year.

But with all the above taken into account, I see major hype for this console.
Check out the official EU Playstation fan forums.Full of bloody idiot 12 year olds and some rare boards material members, but they are all still hyped like mad for this, and all have pre-orders down.

I see this being quite a successful launch to be honest.
It may take a little while for the PS3 owner numbers to really start rising, but it's always the same at console launches, give the PS3 a year and I think you might change your view slightly.
