Im strongly considering buying one next week (if i can get one that soon)

I know very little about it tho so i taught id ask some questions!

    1. How is everbody finding it?
    2. What are the best games out there
    3. Does it feel more like a novelty machine or does it have lastability( i know this isnt an easy one as its not out that long)
    4. Does it have backwards capabilitys on all gamecube games?(this wud be one of its biggest selling points to me personally!)

It seems really cool and innovative but i never trust buying something without knowing a bit about it first (*obviusly lol)

    1. i got mine for xmas so cant help you there :(

    2. zelda is a must have but the rest arent amazing although warioware and redsteel are quite good.

    3. its not a gimmick,at the moment most of the games are a bit gimmicky but there are some very good titles on their way later this year(its only been out 2 months so give it a chance)

4.yes,although you need to get gamecube controllers to do this.

All Gamecube games work (well, all the games ive tried worked). Pick up Zelda, Warioware and maybe Red Steel and you won't be disappointed (Excite Truck pretty soon too).

Even the Virtual Console makes it worth the purchase.

By the summer it will have a solid selection of games and by Christmas we should have a bevvy of beauties ready to take your money.

    1. Finding it good. Slow at the moment on the release front though.

    2. Zelda, Wii Sports, Rayman Ravin Rabbids

    3. Too early to tell, certainly the controls are more than a novelty, they are well implemented. Need the games now to match that. There have been a few lazy ports already though.

    4. Yes - 100%.

    1. I'm enjoying it alot more than other consoles, I'm usually a PC gamer.
    2. Madden 07 is great. I dunno if others just haven't played it or if they actually don't like it, but I love it. Zelda is good, but for me a disappointment compared to good PC RPGs.
    3. I really like the controls, they work very well with Madden. Definitely handy to be able to jink your hand left to do the same with your runner, or hand-off by jinking your other hand. Less buttons to press is a big plus.
    4. Yes

Its a smashing system, got totally hooked on Zelda, slogging through 42 hours of sheer bliss 'til I finished it.
I have to say however it will help if you have another machine as a companion, not sure how happy I'd be if I only had a Wii and no other, the tyoe of games being released on other formats, Okami, Gears Of War and the like may make me less satisfied with the Wii.
As said the best of the games so far are Zelda, Monkey Ball, Play, Sports, COD3 is nice, I finished it and found just as enjoyable if not more so than its 360 stablemate.
With Mario, Metroid and countless other the Wii should have a good lifespan, especially if the DS line up is a comparable, we need new IPs like Trauma Centre and Cooking Mama to elevate the Wii above reheats of old though beloved characters and scenarios.
The online function, weather, news, shop and browsing are noce but it will be cool to finally get blasting online in Metroid prime 3, well hopefully anyway.
All my Gamecube games work just fine, although given the nature of the machine, might not be a bad idea to find a wavebird, wireless GC controller, just to save plugging in cables.
Also invest in a component cable if your TV can take it, does wonders for the picture quality.
Thats it really, go buy one sure, but don't get rid of the PS2 to do it!

Have a wii and 360. Since I got the wii I haven't touched the 360. Stuck into Zelda at the moment. Fantastic game, Fantastic. Initially you'd think the contorller is just a gimmick but when you see it used in a game well (Like Zelda) you'll see it has GREAT potential............. Having said that though, didn't think much of the other games (Got Redsteel. Didn't like) and will be going back to my 360 when finished Zelda until the next batch of games come out. Mario, Metroid etc look like they should be great though. Def worth a purchase
