Neets - eircom phonewatch has quoted me €599 (incl vat) for their monitored system (7 windows, 2 doors). An additional €80 per extra window. Sensors detect both vibration & opening/closing. Monthly monitoring charge is €21.92

You can get a digi-texter added in instead of handing money over to eircom for monitoring. This would send a text msg to you when your alarm goes off. But I think it can only text mobiles that are in Ireland so if you go abroad set it up so it texts your key-holder.

blimey, the monthly monitoring fee certainly adds up over the course of the year! are eircom the best or are there others that do just as good a job but a bit cheaper?
