Old cablelink connection

I have recently moved into a 14 year old apartment and am trying to connect up my tv to the old cablelink connection on the wall.

I bought what I thought was the right cable in DID yesterday but it doesnt fit the connection at the wall.

It looks like the connection that is needed is a very thin spike in the centre of a circular connector which can screw on to the connection at the wall. Does anyone know what this is called so I can buy one, and where would I get such a thing?

If anyone could help that would be great

Sounds like an F connector. Any typical hardware store should have these - you can get one that just screw on.

It's quite likely it's disconnected elsewhere though - don't expect cable for free!

Cool, thanks, got one at PEats at lunchtime - it looks like the right cable alright.

Fingers crossed the NTL is free!

NTL is not free. You can be prosecuted for "theft of service" and back dated charge for service till date you moved into address or last cancelled.

Even the unencrypted channels are technically not free.

I advise you to disconnect or take a subscription.
