Hi below is a part copy of a message i got... i remember seeing something in Boards before about 2nd chance but cant remember !!.................

The seller, ******** is making this Second Chance Offer because the high bidder was either unable to complete the transaction or the seller has a duplicate item for sale.

Is this ok to follow through and purchase would yee say ?.. thanks in advance.

I dont see any reason why not, my g/f does a bit of selling on ebay and sometimes if she has a few of the same item she makes a second chance offer to people and theres nothing fishy about it. I dunno, maybe there is some circumstances where it might be dodgy (like if they contacted you directly rather than going through the official ebay 'second chance' system) but I dont see anything wrong with the above...

Thanks puteq, im thinkin the same . the seller has Feedback Score: 1443
    Positive Feedback: 100%.

HHHmmm what to do .... what to do ... :P

Edit: seems a bit odd why if the seller has more than one of the listed items, why do they say only one is available (at the time of auction) , to try to get peoples attention maybe ?... but surely this is wrong !

I'd say if the seller has so much feedback and its all positive i'd trust them anyway. good question about why the seller would say they only had one in stock and then make you this offer; though it does genuinely happen that a seller sells something but then the buyer cops out - i think the seller has a right to insist the buyer pays but this happened a few times to my g/f and she just let it go and offered to the next highest bidder. but you can always ask the seller why it is available etc and see what s/he says...
