Nokia e50 or n73 for father?

My aul lad currently has a 6230i on Vodafone. Its does what he wants but its starting to play up lately. Afaik there is no direct successor to the 6230i so I've narrowed it down to either the e50 (which is similar in looks) or the n73 but I'm not sure how he'd react to these symbian phones. He's staunchly nokia, and wasn't impressed with my k800 so it has to be a nokia and not another 6230i. He needs a sturdy phone with a clear screen and big letters, as he wears reading glasses.

Any other suggestions, or opinions on either phone?

    Thanks

Sounds like the E50 would be the phone to go for, I don't think he'd need the extras on the N73.

Symbian, IMHO, is very similar to using a "regular" Nokia phone, even down to locking the phone in the same manner. There's very little learning curve.

The Nokia 6233 would be the direct successor to the 6230i, in my opinion.

It's the Nokia 6234 on Vodafone.

Honestly, the symbian thing is easy to use, but I'm basing that on me. My mother or father wouldn't have a clue nor the patience to learn to use it.

6233/4 is a very good phone. With an option to increase text size. (Settings > Display > Font Size). It'd be very good, as he'll be used to the S40 interface, the updated version wont be as much of a learning curve as S60 would be.

yep there have been some issues with text size on the E50 but I guess this can also be increased in the same way as above.

He could always go back to a good old 6310i...!

    In which case pm me.
