I understand once I got involved in this I was committed but should I have folded preflop?

Me 66 in the BB with 378$
    Villan on the button covers.

Blinds 1/2 CO limps in.Villan makes it 6 as he has from his button the last 4 rounds.
I RR to 18 CO calls. Villan RR to 36. I call as does CO.

    Flop Jc6c4h

I lead out for 60. CO folds. Villan calls.
Turn 4d. I bet about 1/3 of the pot to give odds for f/d to call. Villan calls.
River Ac. I check. Villan goes all in . I call. He shows JJ for house JJJ44. !!!

i still feel i should have folded preflop to the RR but I felt that the CO would call kinda giving me better odds.... plus i thought i would stack him if I hit.

    Opinions Please?

    Mac..

3 hands beat you here AA, JJ and 44. when the money went in only 2 of those did. its just a cooler. also why reraise pre flop? do you plan to bet out on any flop? you are oop against initial raiser. why not just call?

prob not the best reason for the RR. but it was the first time I had anything to play back at the constant button raiser. Was prob a macho thing ;)

You're right call would be better. unfortunately in this circumstance i was getting stacked one way or the other I think....

Set over set, its the Archduke Ferdinand of poker. Go broke all the time here unless you have an infallible read.

Preflop, its boils down to whether you can get 10/1+ on your call if you hit your set... theres already 60 in the pot and you have to call $18 so you are 33% of the way there already. Call, unlucky.

I flat call raise here everytime besides that just unlucky really....

reraising it sometimes from the blinds is good, it probably shouldn't be your default play but this seems like a good spot. I definitely wouldn't fold for the mini reraise.

    Raise to 72 preflop.
    Fold flop.

Reraising is normally better than calling in this spot. Once he min reraises you you are getting the odds needed to call and hit a set. The very odd time you will hit a set at the same time as another player, its not really worth worrying about, its just something that happens from time to time. No player is ever folding in a spot like that, so over the course of time everyone breaks even.
