    Hi guys,

Hopefully somebody would have had the same issue I am having atm.
Installed Vista fine on my PC, a part from the sound.
I have installed the Realtek HD Audio but still no sound at all, in my device manager I have an unknown device, so I guess this is my sound controler, as I can not see any sound device anyway.

Tried the driver from Giga-byte, and from Realtek, no luck.

Any idea or other source ?

    Thanks

According to the spec it uses the Realtek ALC888 HD Audio codec so the Realtek driver Rambo linked to should be the correct one.

Gigabyte also offer a Vista driver on their site though I do not know if it is newer or older than the official Realtek one.

Yeah thanks guys, I tried both, no luck
Still I have got this unknown device and have no clue what is it becasue Vista tells me I actually have a sound controler.
Maybe in the mean time my speakers died as well, quiet old.
I will contact Giga-byte through their forum or so, we'll see.

Vista comes with a built in driver for HD audio you didn't attempt to install by any chance the XP driver initially ?

Try rolling back the driver to the Microsoft one is available and see if it corrects itself.
