I'll be there of course! Some great matchups, including a few of the posters here.

    Semi-pro MMA

Conor McGregor (SBG) v Ciaran Campbell (Antrim MMA) FW

The first fight of the night promises to be a cracker - I'm giving nothing away, but make sure you're on time is all I'll say!

Karl Roche (SBG) v Stephen Sommerville (3 Castles) HW

Stephen is stepping up to the plate in this one. Having been impressive in the MMA league and at submission events, he's taking on Karl Roche, by now a ROT veteran and favourite. Two big, big guys giving it all - this should have the crowd on their feet.

Micky McGee (Donegal MMA) v Paul Cowzer (Shika) FW

This should be a stand-up war! At featherweight these guys will be blindingly fast - if you blink, you'll have to buy the DVD to see how this ended in slow-motion. Best of luck Cowzerp!

Barry Oglesby (KO MA) v Leigh Stewart (Antrim MMA) WW
A man's strength can be measured by his appetites. Indeed, a man's strength *flows* from his appetites

Previously postponed, this matchup is hotly anticipated. It'll be interesting to see what tactics both guys come in with, as both are well rounded. Will they have spotted a hole in their opponents game? Bring it home Roper.

    Thai Boxing

Declan Broderick (Chupasart Gym) v Philip Bourne (Warriors)
Kevin Douglas (Chupasart Gym) v Naoise O'Hare (Warriors)

PaddyC's Chupasart fighters, making their debut against two fighters from the Warriors Gym. These two Thai Boxing bouts will be spread throughout the night - the first between the semi-pro and pro MMA fights and the second between the pro-fights and Cage Rage qualifiers. Even the most hardened grappler will appreciate the skills and heart on show here.

this is defo one of the best if not best RoT cards - really looking forward to this

like clive said, the first fight of the night will be a blinder and also like clive said (clive says a lot) the micky v paul fight will be a 'cracker'. i've trained with micky and he's a good all rounder and i've seen paul fight and he's a real tough scrapper so who knows...

the rest of the card just gets better and better... :)

    From?

    From?

    Good point. O'Connell Street?

A 19 bus will drop you next to the place. A 19a a 5 minute walk from it. The 49 and 16/a will also bring you fairly close. If you ask your driver for Leonard's Corner they'll let you know. Travel time should only be 15 minutes max.

HTe place is next to Griffith College Dublin, check out here and here (detailed map)

Alternatively a taxi would be less than €10.

Im really looking forward to this. It will be my first ring of truth and first mma event. Tickets say doors open at 7pm, what time do the fights usally start?

Dermot, seriously don't mind about the time the fights usually start, worry about getting up near the door's because you won't find an orderly que at any R.o.T event, its survival of the fittest I'm afraid!.

But having said that. Once opened the events start off pretty quickly, and smoothly.

The fighter's will (normally) be introduced to the crowd one by one by the MC until all the fighters are in the ring.

Afterwhich your probably taking about five minutes before the night kicks off.

If this is your first MMA event your going to love it. The athmospher is amazing and no matter if your ringside (first in, best dressed!) or along the walls the place is small enough for you to feel 'up close and personal' with all the fights.

    Your gonna love it.

Two fights I'm particularly interested in, Karl Roach -V- Stephen Sommerville. If Stephen takes Karl into the second round I think this could be a slug fest, but I think I'd give it to Karl in the first.

Richie Moore -V- Mark Leonard. I can't call it on this one. Richie has the heart of a lion & a granite jaw. Mark will have to submit Richie for this one, if this stays standing, another slug fest. Richie's strong, very strong.

Hey Dermot this will be my second ROT visit and just to say if your first is anything like mine you'll be hooked .I was ringside and it was some shock to the system (apparently I was white for about the first 3 fights!) and I've been watching UFC for 13 years:D
I arrived early and was near the front of the queue but then some really hard looking blokes (youll see what I mean) that obviously dont have to stand in line just came straight to the front as soon as the doors opened:mad:

Much respect to all the fighters and I hope everyone is fit for porter after;)
