What are your favourite movie posters ? Also, anyone know a good place in Dublin to get them ?

I suppose ordering them online would be expensive due to the shipping ?

I grab them off eBay mostly but shipping isn't too bad when I'm in the US.

I have this framed and also this. :)

I like. Where did you get the frames ? Ive been spending 30 euro on each frame, its just a sheet of glass with a cardboardy back to it and the poster clips in. There is no actual frame around the side.

Know of somewhere cheaper ? Ive currently got both of these framed and on the wall.

Love the Kill Bill vol 2 one, Uma in the bride's dress with the katana...
Would be tempted to get that one of Faye for myself, Ruu:p

Dunno Tusky, my frames are just cardboard back, perspex and these plastic sides that all clip together. I get them at Walmart so it is no use to you. :(

Got these two from a bloke I know who use to manage a cinema. He had a load of cinema advertisment posters saved up over the years and gave a few of them out one night in the pub.

Took my ones down when I painted the room a while ago and can't remember where I put them. Prolly out in the shed or up in the attic at this stage. :(

There is / was a small poster shop some where down talbot street that had a great selection of movie posters. Don't know if it's still there, been a while since I went into it.

The Evil Dead one is brilliant. I have the Pulp Fiction one that The Scientist posted, except it doesn't actually say Pulp Fiction. It's so big it has to go on my ceiling as well, I got it in a poster sale in college.
I used to get a fair few back when I worked in Chartbusters, my favourite being not a poster, but a big Land of the Dead cardboard stand.
Also, the omniplex down here gives away free small promo posters when movies are coming out. They're not much bigger than A4, but they're nice tidy little things.

Heere's Johnny! Had this one on the bedroom door for years. One of my favourite movies, and as iconic a cinematic image as there is...

Love the Evil Dead and Shining posters. Have them both. One of my favorites is this-

Well I don't really have a favorite, but I have Terminator 1/2 posters, "our solar system" poster, "hidden depth" poster of an iceberg, and a huge 140x90 poster of Rocky.

    This one...

Also I've been searching for this poster, for ages and ages, but can't find it :( , I guess I'll have to call up Jim Cameron and ask him to send me one.

As for the frames, I too am in a lookout for some nice frames, I like minimalistic frames myself without too much around the posters, I've seen lots of people in the US use the below poster frame, I love it, small aluminium edges, very minimalistic, but wasn't able to find it here :(

I've a load of posters gathered thru the years but I'm not a big fan of modern day photoshopped poster art or posters made out of screen grabs.

I much prefer the painted character stuff of the 70's and even the pulpy noir posters of the 50's. Then the poster seemed to be more than just a means to sell a film but also a piece of artwork in itself. Just think of any of the Indy or Star Wars movie posters and how much detail and attention is gone into each.

Now try and think of some modern day poster that has the same amount of attention, that's not just aping the 70's artwork.
