Getting into Venues

I went to the Dresden Dolls a while back in TBMC, it was over 18s ID required the usual, I got in without anyone asking me for ID(although I spotted one bouncer checking, I just didn't stay in his queue:D ).

Anyway, my question is, are venues like the Village, <snip> etc. really strict on ID? Oh and anyone know about age restrictions at the Electric Picnic?

    Thx

Aye, as long as they are accompanied
About time Irish festivals started doing this!

OP - The Village is the only place ive found to be strict on ID, then again I am 22 so I havent had that problem for a while :)

What about <snip> and Whelans? Oh and Vicar St.?

They're all over 18's. If you look old enough I'm sure you could slip through the net so to speak. Maybe if you bought a little fake moustache it would help.

look it's very simple, no one here can give you a definitive answer as it isn't a computer checking your age as you walk in the door. it's normally two people and we all know people they can be right cocks or can be sound.

To be honest I don't enjoy <snip> as a venue. Furthermore I don't appreciate censorship

Meh, its always depends on the bouncer.

At that dresden dolls gig, lots of underage peopls were brought upstairs for it. This rarely happens and you were pretty lucky to get in normally if you did.
    I also dislike censorship.

    Thread open!

I'm closing this... topic has been done to death.

electro.ie, I respect the fact that you dislike censorship, but if you want to talk about MCD venues, this is not the place. There are plenty of other boards out there that can facilitate that sort of discussion.
