laptop slow in booting up on battery

    ok have a dell inspiron 6400 and took all the crap off it

    when its on battery power it takes forever to load up

    have zone alarm,nod32 & ad aware running at start up

    anything i can do to speed up when i open it on battery power

    ta

    Check the bios settings to see if there is a setting to change the processor speed depending on mains powered / battery. It is set to conserve power by slowing down the processor.

    Check also the settings in the control for your power management as this is more likely the culprit . Also this might help...

    Change power settings for battery to presentation or always on.
