How many USB devices...

...do you have connected to your PC right now.

I'm sure we could all max out our USB ports with devices we have sitting around, but as a measure of the ones you use as a regular fixture of your PC setup, I'll specify the "right now" bit, just to keep it handy.

I've got 6 at the moment, that never get unplugged.
    1. Mouse
    2. Scanner
    3. Printer/scanner combo
    4. Webcam
    5. IR receiver for a remote control
    6. Joypad

No point to this really, it's little more than a gratuitous "show us your desktop" thread... just out of curiosity.

Usually there would be 4 usb slots taking up on the mobo and the case has 2 extra on the front panel. Everything I use is usb. The bro has about 15 usb devices plugged in and there are 4 usb ports in the old nokia monitor he has.

    LMAO :D
I wonder how that one came about... were they setting out to make a regular USB hub and found it ran a bit hot?
"duuaahh, well... that's to keep your coffee warm! see?"
I think my brother has a Coffee Cup warmer with a DSL router built in... must tell him about this hidden dual function. ;)

I had thought of buying a usb cup warmer, but realized I'd gotten used to drinking room-temperature coffee.

Yeah my Dell monitor has 4 usb ports, so very handy, but as far as I can tell it isn't a self-powered hub... which strikes me as a bit odd tbh :/

I also have a USB PlayStation controller adaptor, but I unplug it when I'm not using it as the lights stay on (even when the PC's turned off :D). I have an external hard disk but I'm using FireWire with that.

At the moment, I have just my usb keyboard, mouse and printer plugged in. I regularly use usb for iPod, card reader, flash memory and digital cameras too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,160 ✭✭✭SeanW

    SNES Joypad Adapter
Logitech G5 Laser mouse (kicks ass :D )
    Keyboard
    Scanner
USB 1.1 hub out of the €2 shop providing 4 ports
Card reader connected to the ATX USB ports onboard.

    Six in total.

I have a pen drive, basic Mp3 player and am planning to buy a printer at some point, which will probably be USB as well.

Only my mouse at the moment...
I suppose the iPod cable is a permanent fixture as well, but other than that everything else just gets slotted into one of the front usb ports whenever I need it.

Okay, it was 20, and two free on my keyboard's built in hub, but today I'd to buy a 7 port Hub, of which all will be used, so that's 27 ports, and two free on the back of the keyboard
