I'm going to Chicago in 2 weeks and I want to bring back a playstation 3 with me,it will save me 200 euro buying there so its a no brainer.I'm just wondering would I be able to bring it on board as carry on or would I have to check it in.Think it weighs about 6kg but not sure of the box size but would imagine its quite large.Do aerlingus only allow one bag per person as carry on,just haven't traveled since the new regulations were brought in.Thanks in advance.

I have travelled since the new rules, you should be okay. From their website.
Aer Lingus permit one piece of cabin baggage per passenger, this is free of charge and remains the passengers responsibility.

Cabin baggage must weigh less than 6 kgs/13 lbs in total. It must be small enough to fit in an overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.

Thanks Ruu.Could be pushing it weight wise as I read the playstation weighs 6kg but could lighten the load by putting leads and other things in my case and just leave the console in my bag.Don't fancy my chances of the whole thing still being in my case if I checked it in when we get back to Dublin

will it work with the voltage. The yanks use 110 and we use 220-240 volts....

scooby_doo_no1:Not at the minute, all games are region free but its up to developers to choose if they stay that way,but its no big deal just buy them from the states or ebay.I just wont be able to play PAL PS2 games on it but in fairness you don't buy a PS3 to play PS2 games.Blue ray discs are region coded so you will have to get region A discs (NTSC),PAL is region B.So I guess it will only play region 1 dvds too.

superscouse:the PS3 has an external transformer so all you have to do is plug a standard kettle lead instead of the one that's supplied.Fingers crossed now I can pick one up and get it on the plane.
