    Hi,

New to boards - yes, don't let the handle put you off!!

Wondering if anyone has been to SLF (or 5L4 as they used to be known) gigs recently. I'm considering going to the one in the Project in March. Going through an SLF rediscovery phase - God they were a fantastic band! Even my kids love them!

I never saw them back in their prime, but have seen them every year for the past 5 years. Always put on a good show. Still play all the old songs and a few new ones. They've actually started playing some of the older more obscure songs too, which is good.

I didn't realise they were still going. It's difficult to imagine that they could have the same 'edge'. I can't see a group of men in their late 40s doing 'Alternative Ulster' !!! :)

Oh yeah, Im going. Been going since 1984 and they always put on a good show.

They may be all coming up to 50 but so what ? They still blow away any of the current "punx" clogging up my TV...

    No sleep till Belfast :-)

slf are brilliant. i first heard of them when i was 18 (bout four years ago) with alternative ulster on one of tom dunne cd's. favourite tune is "at the edge" still has good meaning, timeless.

is there some web site to keep up to date to check out latest gigs, def would love to see them live. did slf ever break the uk? were they a big band in the 1970/80's (not that's what make necessarily makes them great. it just good that they had a good run, cause there good)
