This morning on the green line the tram I got on was only 30 meters and not the full length 40m .
I thought these only lived on the red line. Anyone know why. Where the other trams in Tallaght picking on this one so he moved? did he just fancy a change? and finally how did he get there given the lines are not linked!

A single 30m tram was transferred via a low loader down the M50 to Sandyford a few months ago so that the green line could be brought up to 4 minute frequencies in the rush hour

It was done before after the Stephens Green accident when a replacement was shipped over till the repairs where completed

The first 10m extension piece arrives March

i did see the 'baby tram' recently alright - answers my question about whether all the trams were in use simultaneously on the green line too.

Has the red line tram frequency suffered due to this?

Are there plans to bring in 40m trams on the red line does anyone know? I'll be moving out to Tallaght soon and will be using the Luas to commute but they seem dangerously full in the evenings.

Well back in day the RPA went on record at least twice stating the need for 40m trams on the Tallaght line was nonsense. Those where fun times http://www.platform11.org/media/press_release.php?year=2004&no=pr_027.html http://www.platform11.org/media/press_release.php?year=2004&no=pr_028.html

But we won the 26 10m sections are on order due to start arriving in March 2007

Before "baby the 2nd" arrived (The red line's 3011) and the Green Line timetable was improved there was a requirement for 12 out of the 14 trams each peak hour. I would guess its 13 out of 15 now.

Is it an order for 26? I thought it was fewer.

But of course it would really be 52 no. 5m sections, wouldn't it?
