Nbox HDTV help needed

A polish girl brought over a brand new NBox from a Sony shop in Poland to Ireland. She wants me to fit a dish for her but I am not sure if its a Polsat subscription card. The card which came with the box is blue with a blue bubble on the front of it and the letter "N" printed inside it. Would I be aligning the dish for Hotbird for this reciever, or would it be a completely different satellite?

Paddy, as far as I'm aware and I'm open to correction, the N package is not all HDTV but is in MPEG4.
Three channels only are HD.

Alot of it is in MPEG-4 a few are MPEG-2 but they are uplinked by different people.

You're correct with the hotbird sat. I've one of there recorders and the subscription. The HD channels I have are Discovery HD and Nsport which shows UK premier league . The recent qualifiers and final between Chelsea and Arsenal also shown, plus Champions League all in HD. Subs are 16zl month for sports so bargain with 5.8 zl to UK pound less the 3 quid a month plus some free german HD channels on Astra 19 deg. There's also eurosport 1 and 2 which i used to have sky for to watch the tour de france.

The activation was a little tricky at first unless your polish is good due to the manual etc, but i called to change my channel package and theres an english option now

Having said that its straight forward just pick up hotbird and call activation.

You will need big dish - around 80cm and double receiver (2 cables - one for watching tv and second one for VOD or recording)... I'd recommend to buy one with quad receiver just in case you'll want another nbox in another room. Cost of these together with installation wouldn't exceed 150e..... just get ur girlfriend to check http://www.ogloszenia.gazeta.ie/Uslugi,26.html ..there is good few people doing this...

hi i have the nbox and the picture is gone. i can still hear the audio and see text but there is no picture,
anyone any ideas what's the problem?

possible you`ve changed the format output via one of the remotes, 1080i, 720p and all that.

how would i find out if i did that?

check your remotes, see if they don`t have a format or output button . I have a couple of boxes with remotes that have a `Vformat` button, changes the resolution.
