Im not in love with it. You are only ahead of an aggressive AK.

It's not about what you are ahead of though it's about what he's representing

The opponent in this hand could well put 99 in heros' range

given the action so far if the opponent is any good he should be able to lay down an over pair to this board when hero pushes with 4 to a straight

Hero's hand is a bluff at this point but one that makes some sense

There is very little good to say of this play. It stinks of I am sitting in front of my computer for way too long and am going to use my big stick to knock players out of pots (will work 1 out 2 of times, but never enough to make a profit)
Also you're relying on the assumption that you'll get a "good player" to put down an overpair with this hand.
A good player is rarely going to put down an overpair to this especially if you have made a few umpty moves like this,
It is not a bluff that makes sense as if you had jammed the straight on 4th street you wouldnt go ALL-IN now would you ?

getting 2:1 on his money with two flush draws out there im not sure fold KK,AA,QQ here.

    I;m a bit of a nit and I don't think I'd fold jj+ here.

I find a lot of players pusing the nuts or near nuts I also think that as it's only a bet of 75% the pot with two flushes out there a push makes sense

I find a fold with an overpair here sometimes

In the words of Ghollimoli - This is wrong.

I concede that it may well be any chance you can enlighten me as to why?

he didn't play it like he has 99. trying to make a player fold an op is usually a bad idea anyway, especially if he has a flush draw here I don't think he's laying it down.

he's more likely to have 1010 than 99 here btw, If I folded here it'd be fearing a set not a straight.

I don't see JJ and 99 playing too differently pre flop and on the flop. With 99 he has only one over card to a pair and an OESD so check calling doesn't seem to out of order it may well be that the PFR is C-Betting AK AQ even against an over pair QQ 99 has 10 outs twice.

I see that my opinion is in the minority and I accept that it would appear my line is wrong here but I see no reason why the OP can't get to this position with 99 when he is in fact here with JJ

For arguments sake, lets say our opponent has KK. The only 3 hands that would play the hand the way oscar has that he beats are QQ, JJ & AhKh (unless he has either, esp the Ah). Anything from 66-TT & AA have him beaten, but he can rule out 66 and most likely AA. I think if I had KK here against Oscar (not knowing him of course) a set would make up a large part of his range here.

Saying that I would still find it hard to fold KK in this spot getting better than 2-1 on my money.

Villian has raised the pot pre-flop ...who knows what his range is here but i would think QQ, KK...or a aggresive AK..

I don;t really like the check call on the flop...again the villian bets the pot and you haven't found any more information by calling here...imo he's probably got KK as he's not overbetting but trying to get called....

    what happened??

Not that it matters but he had the one hand that instacalls - 99.
