Boards.ie is a fairly apparently Irish website that has users from many places. You see users from all over Ireland, and also people from the US, the UK, and Europe, but I often wonder to what extent is Boards read and used around the world?

Do we have any Boardsies from Vanatu or Burkina Faso?
How far aound the globe does Boards.ie span?

If you're in one of them there feckin foreign countries :) , tell us where.

We should form our own army. I begs sergeant!

But it is pretty amazing how boardsie has turned out.. I wonder if the founding members would've figured it'd turn out this way when they first formed it.

I'm sure Dev and Cloudie glaze over at the thought of what they've created.

Thats one hell of a spike in the annual new posts chart.

I believe the last count was 27 though many of them have only really recently been created. There was an announcement of that recently I think, its probably still visible under the Darts announcement.

    27 sites! Feck!

With that amount you should have at least one gambling/poker site and one or two porn sites.
It will help with the revenue :)

Do I have to do all the work for you? :)
    China
    Japan
    New Zealand
    Boards.tv
    U.K. (Don't think it's finalised yet)
    U.S.

Look at the front page. The links are under "Boards groups" on the bottom left.

boards.ie takes over the Boards Group in international expansion move
boards.ie Ltd., Ireland's largest message board community, has acquired the "Boards Group" set of message board sites from creator and boards.ie director John Breslin, in a move that opens the way for similar community websites to boards.ie in other countries such as the UK and the US. boards.ie is one of the largest indigenous Irish websites, and celebrates its 7th birthday as a company in February 2007.

To date, the Boards Group consists of boards.us, a site for discussing all things related to the United States, boards.jp, a Japanese animation fan site, and smaller discussion sites for New Zealand and China. Plans for international expansion involve boards.org.uk, which aims to become a sister site for boards.ie in the UK, and boards.tv, a television discussion forum that is currently in early development.

The acquisition also includes journals.ie and Planet Journals, a popular blog hosting and aggregation service that was established by Breslin in 2005. The boards.ie "eyes" brand, currently used on the classified ads subsite adverts.ie, will be extended to this service.

It's at the bottom of the current announcement on the top of every forum.

I'm currently in scotland, which is alot like home, except people guessing that i'm irish, and feeling really proud of themselves, and also they are fond of putting things in cans together that should never be in cans together.

Hmmm. I'm sitting at a table in southeast asia at the moment, tapping this in on the laptop over wi-fi while being served calamansi juice by extremely appealing asian waitresses, as the balmy, fragrant breeze wafts through the bay windows from the sea. Might get some surfing in later.

That's cool, they're even involved part of an Archipelago with New Britain apparently. I wonder if there's any rivalry

In the past few months I have posted on boards from Dublin, various UK locations, Spain and Turkey so I feel that by doing this and by not being Irish I have made a small contribution to the internationalness of it all (yes, I know that's not a word). Either that or I'm really sad for still posting on boards when I'm on holiday :)

    Carlow. Sure, why not?

Dev, have you ever just sat down and thought about what ye have created?

Is it still true that if you get a certain amount of people to write they are a religion on a census, that religion comes to exist? Or has Snopes written an article to disprove this?
