Hi all I have a loved one who is in one of our overcrowded General Hospitals and in the psychiatric ward. Only problem is she is more depressed now in the short trem she has been in for many reasons.

We have gone over options and have been advised that private would be the best option so can anyone recommend any private clinic / hospitals for me health cover is good so price is not an issue.

st patricks hospital, off james street. My mom works there, its a very nice place..

All answers to this thread will be very varied and of a strong feeling.

My personal opinion would be to keep the one you love as far away from St. Patrick's as possible. And i mean that. that's my experience. others will recommend it (as above)

another piece of advice i would give you is to have him/her seen by more than one doctor at the one time if possible in order to get second opinions as, like i said, they really don't seem to have mental illness figured out.

whatever you decide, best of luck. i know it's not easy.

Yes, as posted earlier, second opinions are important. They are, after all, "opinions." Another possible source of referral would be to call the psych department chairs found at NUI campuses.
