Im going to a concert in Berlin in a venue called Postbahnhof. Im looking to get a hostel either near the venue or within commutable distance. Im told the venue is right beside a trainstation called Ostbahnhof.

Is there anyone that knows Berlin that can advise me on this ? If I get a hostel in city centre will I be able to walk/commute easily enough to psotbanhof ?

Also, can anyone reccomend a good cheap hostel ? Looking for somewhere that is 10-17 euro a night with good party atmosphere. Thanks!

Stayed in Circus hostel few years back, they had 2 locations then, both very easy to reach by foot/U-bahn. It ws easily the best hostel I have stayed at, great atmosphere, great staff and the cleanest bathrooms i have ever seen!! As I said that ws a few years back so you might wanna do a bit of research....URL is http://www.circus-berlin.de/

No such thing as the city centre in Berlin. many "centres" around the city.

don't worry about where you're staying. if you go to get a train, you'll never be waiting more than 5 mins (literally) and tickets are cheap as chips..

    enjoy berlin, tis great.

    Just checked that hostel.

if you're thinking of staying there then the place where the gig is on is not far by train.

this is taken from the hostel website:

    (If travelling from Ostbanhof):

Look for the S-Bahn sign (white S on a green circle). Get on any westbound train here for 2 stops to "Alexanderplatz". Change to the underground line U8 and take it direction "Wittenau" for two stops to station "Rosenthaler Platz". Get off the train and follow the signs to the exit "Weinbergsweg" (the exit is towards the back of the train). We are the big yellow corner building at the intersection "Rosenthaler Platz". There is a pharmacy on the corner of the building. The entrance is on the side of the building on the street "Weinbergsweg". Welcome!

it's 2 trains with travelling 4 stops which in my estimation is on average about a 12 mins train journey plus whatever length of time it takes to walk the directions they give you above.
