The 030 is a nice piece alright. Especially considering the battery for it has twice the MaH of it's TM counterpart.

    Cool!
What version is it? just tell me the maH and the type of sights (white dots?)
I'd guess you got one of the more recent versions but im interested to know.

I bet you got tired of running out of gas after every skirmish and having to order in some more.

eh? you only need one or two mag fulls of gas per skirmish. A bottle of gas will last a good while. You can buy gas in Ireland from BFSL. You can buy a propane adapter and use that.

Gas guns are extremely realistic and fun to play with. Not to mention skirmishable. They are about as close to the real thing as you're going to get with Airsoft. AEPs, although handy as all you have to do is charge them really don't compare. They're in a totally different league. They have no moving parts. They have a much MUCH lower fps. I'd use one for messing about the house. But that's about it.

The CYMA 030 fires at about 230 fps with .20's, lower then most GBB's alright but not that much lower if you want a pistol on a budget. You're right about nothing comparing to a GBB for feel though.

Well, I wasn't saying they weren't any good. Just that poster seemed to think they were a substitute for a GBB as gas guns go through a can of gas per skirmish. Which is completely untrue.

Theyre good alright. I'd like one. But 230fps really isn't good enough for playing a game outdoors. Plus you really can't beat the feel of a slide blowing back.

    Very true.

Plus they dont make the ghey motor sound... just a satasifying click as the slide flys back.:D

I know AEPs are no substitute for GBBs, but thats obvious.

The gas consumption varies on what kind of gas your using, how much you use your pistols. but whatever the facts are its still a downside using gas up instead of just electricity. People ought to put a lot more research into AEPs at the moment, because the few that are out there at the moment just arent acceptable.

This is basically my point, look whats possible at the moment:

Unfortunetly there isn't a lot of scope for development of AEPs, due to their small size they are severly limited in regards to the kind of parts available to build them, namely smalll powerful motors and batteries, the development of which seems to have reached a plateau.

On the bright side these are exactly the areas that the automotive industry has been working in, so depending on what they can come up with you may someday have a powered by ford sticker on your 500fps 10000 RDS a second pistol, of course that will probably leave you with some serious mag capacity issues :D

And its a lot about the restricting designs of a gun. I wish an airsoft manufacturer would branch out into making gun designs which were based around how an aeg works rather than a real gun. It would make airsoft a lot more interesting

I cant wait till the first Hummer guns come out  . lol

ALSO 10000 rounds a second would 1. sound like a huge gigantic mosquito was in your ear, 2. leave your hands burnt and 3.to fire for a second you would need a box mag the size of a rucksack with an amazing motor in it so that it would feed.

p.s. my cm031 arrived yesterday. absolute beauty of a gun and has a tonne of metal in it. The only problems so far is the hop up lever which needs to be dismantled in order to take the gun apart. I recommend it to anyone.

Yeah but just think how much fun it would be :D

Does anyone know what the highest voltage you can put through an aeg without it instantly exploding is?
i'd like to know what a 30v battery would do.
Is anyone willing to stick a mains supply though their gun???:D
