or can anyone recommend any places to get cheap 512mb sticks cheap for this particular pc

PC World sell PNY ddr2-667 ram for 55 per 512mb - it's good stuff and even includes heatspreaders. I'm not usually a fan of pc world but their ram is reasonable....ebay might work out cheaper but just if you'd prefer being able to walk into a retail store...

afraid no pc world etc near where i live, so online is only option, shop4memory seems a bit of a rip off for compatible memory for my pc. Crucial seems better though.
