Well, I got this machine in PC World a few days ago (actually, my girlfriend gave it to me as a present..):

    15"TFT
    3.2Ghz Celeron D
    256mb DDR2 Ram
    256mb Ati Xpress200 onboard graphics
    80Gb Hard Drive
    Multi-format card reader:D
    DVD-+RW

It also has a pci-e 16x slot. For 399 euro - not bad at all, especially when it's upgradable. The Mobo will take a lga775 Pentium D, Pentium 4 processor and it may even take Core 2 Duo but I'm not too sure - but as it is, the Celeron d processor is quite powerful, don't let the name fool you, it's one of the newer cores with 512kb l2 cache - running games flawlessly so far.

I added 512mb of ram and a 6600 for 100 euro - so for 499, I got me a fairly nice machine capable of running BF2 and Company of Heroes quite well for lan games.

Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by 512MB of RAM and a 6600?
Is 6600 a type of RAM.
