I want to check the title of a house located in County Kildare.

I know there was a conveyance done on it about 25 years ago.

I want to find out who the registered owner is and if there is any leaning on the title like a mortgage.

Where do I find out this information and what do I ask for ?

    Thanks.

Land registry. You will have to go down to Waterford and ask for a copy of the folio. All will become clear then.

Probably way too late for this but you don't go to Waterford. Go to the Irish Life building in Abbey Street, the relevant (Kildare/Wicklow) branch of the Land Registry is there. You'll need the name of the owner of the property to search against or a map with the relevant area outlined to compare with the registry maps. You can't search for an address outside of Dublin.
