Sliding or bifold door options

In our new house build (house now fully plastered inside and ready
soon for second fix) we have delayed making a decision on how to
partition the kitchen area (5.4 x 5.1 metres) from the adjoining
dining room/adjoining sunroom. There is a large opening between
kitchen and dining room. My wife would prefer that we have an
option to close the two rooms off from each other for most of
the time but retaining an option to open it out when we have
    a dinner party, etc.

What are the options here ? Are there geared sliding door assemblies
which allow standard (unhinged) timber doors made in a joinery
to be fixed on the rail assembly ? I've seen bifold doors in catalogues
    on the internet, also.

Has anyone been through a similar decision process?
Are the sliding door options very expensive ? Who can I talk to about
these options in Ireland/Leinster/Connaught ,etc ?

We have used these in the past and are good quality and reasonably priced.

hi i used viking windows for bifold doors. the doors themselves are ok cost about 13000 inc vat for two four leaf doors 3m wide.but getting them back to finish off(missing screws) is proving a nightmare now that they have been paid.

    Hi

Just came accross this post. I got a folding door from Viking Windows in Rathcoole some time ago, And I have to say it of outstanding quality, it makes such a massive difference to our home in every way, more space and the house is so much warmer!im absolutely delighted with it. I found them great to deal with, they were quick and efficient and very helpful. Im even getting them back to do my windows! It is very hard to find a decent window company that is also very well priced if your buying this type of thing so I thought id share my information!
