Hi

Not sure if the correct forum if not Mods can you please move.

I have a website hosted in NTL/UPC webspace, what I would like to do is make that website to be available from mobiles phones (WAP), or create another website to be viewed on mobile phones.

Does anyone know of any links that show an easy way to do it. Not sure if while is hosted in NTL's space it can be done or it needs to be hosted in another webspace.

    Any info will be helpful.

    Thanks

Unfortunately WML cannot be run on all web hosts. For WML content to be run, a web host must make some changes to the configuration of their web server.[/quote]

AFAIK ntl's webspace is just that, bog-standard apache
it does not support php / cgi or any scripting so doubt if it supports WAP either.

seeing as they STILL  have not sorted out directory listing since upc took over (mate tried in vain to get this sorted) I doubt they will re-config their server so you can run a WAP site.

you could try emailing them on cablemodemhelp@.... or the customer support address but frankly I don't know what kind of a reply you'll get

But generally a normal page with limited content will load in a phone browser anyway.

If you have access to the directory, could you not just drop in a load of wml files?

Of course, that would rule out any kind of interactivity, such as logging in or querying a database, but as a static site, it should in theory work.
