I got the live DVD for Christmas and its really rewoken my love for the Cure. There are loads of the back catalogue on it and the encore section is mostly from Seventeen Seconds.

Surprisingly though, as they have no keyboards player there are no songs from the first album, I would have thought the would have featured 10.15 Saturday night and Three Imaginary Boys.

Any of the Cure fans on Boards seen it yet?

    Tracklist:

    1. Open
    2. Fascination Street
    3. alt. end
    4. The Blood
    5. A Night Like This
    6. The End of the World
    7. If Only Tonight We Could Sleep
    8. The Kiss
    9. Shake Dog Shake
    10. Us or Them
    11. Never Enough
    12. The Figurehead
    13. A Strange Day
    14. Push
    15. Just Like Heaven
    16. Inbetween Days
    17. From The Edge of the Deep Green Sea
    18. The Drowning Man
    19. Signal To Noise
    20. The Baby Scream
    21. On Hundred Years
    22. Shiver and Shake
    23. END encores
    24. At Night
    25. M
    26. Play For Today
    27. A Forest
    28. Plainsong
    29. Disintegration
    30. Faith

    "Disintegration" is savage!
I was a bit dissappointed with the video quality - I know they sacrificed it over audio to put the maximum amount of songs on it, but it's pretty woeful.
Great to see Porl back where he should be.

Yep, visually its not the best. One of my main gripes is Play for Today the crowd sang the keyboard riff, that would have been a great buzz but instead of seeing the pleasure of the band, you are treated to a static longshot from the back of the venue.

Nice setlist, I must have a look for this. I wish they'd continue reissuing their albums in those cool double CD editions, they've been great so far, especially Pornography. Disintegration needs the reissue treatment.

They've been putting out 3 albums at a time roughly every 12 months - next ones due maybe in April are Disintegration, Wish, and Wild Mood Swings (unless they sweep that one under the rug and go straight to Bloodflowers).

you can get a lot of Cure albums in Tower at the moment.
I got Wild Mood Swings there last weekend! Tower tend to have more "obscure" albums than else where i find. Must go back for more at the weekend.
Must look for that dvd too..

The Cure remasters have been pretty decent aside from ignoring Killing An Arab.

The Cure at the RDS, July 15 1989, Disintegration tour is still my favourite gig of all time.

    it was amazing

    Shelleyan Orphan,
All About Eve [Julianne Regan's white see through dress],
loads of Dead Kennedys Bedtime For Democracy t-shirts,
a really hot and sticky day,
guys inhaling tippex at the side of the arena in full view of the St John's Ambulance Men.

I got caught in the crowd surge when Plainsong started. Then Pictures Of You, then Closedown. Think Kyoto Song followed it.

    The closer, Faith, was sublime.

I remember "reappropriating" a huge Prayer Tour bus shelter ad which had pride of place in my bedroom for years afterwards. Also, hanging around for hours outside the back of the Westbury waiting for the band to arrive.
Anyone at the Point gig on the "Wish" tour? Last night of the tour, and as far as I can recall, this was the last time Boris Williams and Porl played?
I nearly peed my pants when they played "The Kiss"! I think this gig may have been better than the RDS ones.

Did you see the band at the hotel?

I went to Wish tour, but had kind of gone off them a bit by that stage and didnt really like Wish anyway and was bit pissed.

I did - and even took photos! Jesus, to think I was such a stalker.
