    Hello,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a supplier for Apple parts in Ireland. looking for a hard disk upgrade for an iBook G4 12".
    Any advice greatly appreciated.

Well I wouldn't go looking specifically for a hard disk for an iBook cos you'll probably get stung with some extreme price. Basically most 2.5" laptop drives will work in it - try Peats or IT direct or maybe Komplett or Elara, although 2.5" drives seem to be twice as expensive as standard drives anyway.

    I recommend Komplett.

The following drive is compatible with the iBook G4:

Basically the iBook G4 and PowerBook G4 used IDE drives, and the MacBook and MacBook Pro use Serial ATA drives. Both are 2.5".

NB: The HDD must be *no taller* than 9.5mm for it to fit (above linked is ok).
Also NB: iBook G4's are not for the faint-of-heart! (just search for a replacement guide, you'll see what I mean...)

timmah, i dont know how knowledgeable you are regarding replacing HD in the iBook but its no easy job. not to mention the four/five various size/length/head type screws thats part of it.

being lazy, i'd recommend sending it to typetec some other apple repair agent.
