Big Day Out

I know probably no one else on here was at it but I went to the Big Day Out here in Perth, Australia on Sunday and it was super. Really showed how a festival should be run and made a mockery of both ****** and Slane. The place was clean, water was very reasonably priced and the gig was actually stopped midway through Jet's set until the crowd pushed back and made space.

The best thing though was two main stages side by side. When one band finished another was ready to come on immediately on the stage beside. Any setting up was done while a band was playing so there was no waiting around (for me the worst part of a gig).

Yet again Muse were sensational and really got the crowd going. Definitely won themselves a few more fans. A great day out.

I know a few people that went to the Perth event. It was on here in Auckland a few weeks ago.
The line up wasn't the best to be honest. No real major headliner. From the media reports I seen, most people were happy enough with it, but nothing amazing.
What else did you notice were the main differences between an Irish run gig and one in Oz. Just curious, I worked in the that area in Ireland before I moved.
As normal, keep company names out of the thread.

Biggest difference was that everything was reasonably priced, there was little or no arseing about between bands and that the sun was shining consistently!

Regardless of the venue, the weather or the continent, Muse always kick major arse. Devestated Lily Allen didn't play though!

Cool, thats one fest I wanna go to. My cousin told me about it years ago, and Iv been looking at it for ages, just wondering "hmmm...what it'd be like to be there now?". When I go over there, whenever that may be, I have to get to it.
