    hey

    I've not been in Wexford for over 8 months living in Sydney at moment.
    But will be back in Wexford in 5months time.
    Just wondering how nite life is at weekends as heard finnegans is gone, also
    Any other new pubs popped up over the last few months heard of one called sinatra's ?
    Is the Colony crowd improved or is it still only half full on weekends while it's bloody overcrowded in the stores ?
    Also any sign of anything been done with what was previous Asples?

    Greetings, oh Dunnunda one..... to answer your questions from my viewpoint;

    1) "Just wondering how nite life is at weekends as heard finnegans is gone, also"

    Yup, closed due to lack of interest and the general malaise in South Main Street. Also gone is the Selskar Bar (no loss), closed by the Doyle's (of Bugler's fame) and being turned into a shop. As for nightlife, Dakota is thronged and the phwaor! factor can be huge and everywhere else is as is.

    2) "Any other new pubs popped up over the last few months heard of one called sinatra's ?"

    Sinatra's is a nightclub where Mooney's main bar used to be on the quays. Caters for an older age group than the Colony and isn't packed out by any means. To its left is Springsteen's restaurant/bar which has good food. Other than that nothing new apart from Chaz Bar reopening under new management as The Woodenworks with no change to interior decor apart from a flat screen TV.

    3) "Is the Colony crowd improved or is it still only half full on weekends while it's bloody overcrowded in the stores ?"

    No change.

    4) "Also any sign of anything been done with what was previous Asples?"

    The extension at the old Dunnes car park end is being finished off slowly. I have heard that it's been purchased by the Neville brothers of building fame, but don't know for certain.

    Stay where you are if you want excitement! :D
