    from rte.ie/business.
Aer Lingus is to form an online partnership with low-fares US carrier Jet Blue, which allow Irish and US travellers book seats on the Aer Lingus website between Ireland and 51 destinations in one go.

Aer Lingus says from late September customers will be able to make a booking on aerlingus.com which allows them to travel from Ireland to the US, and onto a Jet Blue flight to 51 destinations across the US, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Aer Lingus said the move significantly extends its reach into North America, and opens up the Irish market for millions of US passengers who can access the Aer Lingus website.

Aer Lingus CEO, Dermot Mannion, said today that the web link-up is costing virtually nothing, as it is being developed in-house, yet will be a boost to revenue and give access to millions of US passengers.

JetBlue have yet to mention this on their site. I do wonder if Aer Lingus have jumped the gun a bit

jet blue probably don't view it as big coup as AL do plus it was rte that reported it,not AL. could be good business for jetblue, their main base is jfk so if they market their connection with AL enough they might pull in business from the ex-pat community scattered along the east coast in particular.

Has anyone flown with Jetblue? The fares from Chicago O'Hare to other locations look tasty enough.

JetBlue is very good. One of the better American carriers, better than most of the non-LCC lot!

I have flown Jet Blue twice, and been very impressed both times. Although a "budget" airline they appear to not be of the Ryanair school of budget travel which, if I may be so bold, often appears to treat customers like a burden, rather than an asset.

All the seats have individual digital TVs, you can choose seats etc. all round good experience- and VERY reasonable.

Sorry for the bump, this has come up again with some further info, from rte.ie/business
Aer Lingus has teamed up with low cost US airline JetBlue Airways to offer passengers the facility to book a single reservation between Ireland and 40 US destinations. Passengers will connect through JetBlue's home base at New York's JFK airport.

The new service will begin on April 3.

Upon arrival to JFK and after customs clearance, Aer Lingus customers connecting to a domestic JetBlue flight can check-in and drop their bags at Aer Lingus's transfer desk in the arrivals lobby at Terminal 4. Customers can then travel to JetBlue's Terminal 6 - via an airtrain - for their domestic US connection.

'With a strong customer base, brand strength and position in the US market, JetBlue is a natural partner for Aer Lingus,' commented the airline's CEO Dermot Mannion.

And great leg room, free soft drinks and snacks.

i used them last august for a JFK to LAS VEGAS run. i've nothing but good things to say about them. leg room is phenomonal,tv is top class and the free snacks are sufficient for a 3-4hr spin. they're not ryanair cheap but more competitively priced than the big name american carriers.
